A mythical warrior and a group of adventurous kids must battle the odds to save the wilderness...

Forest Warrior. 1996. Turner Home Entertainment. PG.

Yeah, it's kind of like that. I like Forest Warrior. It was direct to video, which I never understood, cause it's a really cute movie. I see a lot of crap go out, and it makes me wonder what they're thinking.

Forest Warrior is one of those movies that I used to take with me when I babysat cause it appeals to almost all kids above the age of 6 (and some below) and none of them have already seen it. There's nothing inappropriate about the movie as far as language goes, just maybe the plot line is a little much for younger kids to bear.

If you didn't figure it out from the tagline which I kindly placed at the beginning of everything, Forest Warrior is about a group of mountain kids who learn about a local logging company trying to cut down their forest, so when the law can't do the job, they step in to save the mountain. Unlike the typical kids-save-the-day flick, in this one it's not all smiles and roses.

Jordan does a better job acting in this film, but sadly, not a better job crying. But we do see him in some really humorous plotline...

...where was I? Chuck Norris stars as the spirit of the mountain. He's the real hero. And Terry Kiser (Bernie from the 'Weekend at Bernie's' movies) plays the big bad boss of the logging company.

Complaints:

1) I think Jordan regressed (took a step in the backward direction) in his crying in this film. It looks more like laughing to me, and in fact while that scene is supposed to be the most serious part of the movie, I crack up every time I see it.

2) NO MORE HIGHTOPS. PLEASE. I am so tired of seeing Jordan in hightops. I stopped wearing them when I was in second or third grade. Surely at 13 Jordan was too old for them. And yet, there he is wearing a really ugly pair of hightops.

Bravos go to:

Jordan, for impressing us with his Oreo storing abilities. You'll know what I mean after you see the movie. :)~
